State Department of Education Silver Volunteer Winner - Therapy Dog
Deputy Superintendent Cleo Richardson and State Board member Terrye Seckinger (center) congratulate Marietta Hicks and Roscoe the Therapy Dog for their Roscoe Reading Program, a State Board Silver Volunteer Award winner for exceptional service to schools. The nomination was submitted by the Berkeley County School District. Kneeling next to Roscoe is Kathleen Bounds, Ex-Berkeley County School Board chair. At left are district staff member Dr. Karen Whitley and Madelin Gibson-Guy, principal at Berkeley Intermediate School.

Ten Alcoa employees volunteered their time to help with the ice cream party and work one on one with the student at AIMS – Howe Hall.
